ODS:
Dr Rosales studies the impact of algorithm-based decisions on the perpetuation of inequality from various points of view: the influence of stereotypes and design biases on the production of algorithms; how algorithms that deprioritize, ignore or disempower minorities and the most disadvantaged groups operate; the extent to which the degree of awareness of how algorithms work affects digital skills; the impact of algorithm-based decisions on society, and particularly how this affects the dynamics of older people's (lack of) participation in the digital society.
Dr Rosales uses a critical approach to analyse the impact of intelligent systems on society and help mould the power relations inherent in digital technologies.
