Elena Muñoz has a PhD in Applied Experimental Psychology, a master's degree in Neuropsychology and is a certified clinical neuropsychologist (National Commission for Professional Accreditation, Spanish General Council of Psychology). Throughout her career she has combined research, teaching and clinical intervention on patients with brain damage. She is currently a member of the Faculty of Health Sciences and director of the Cognitive NeuroLab research group at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
Her research activity focuses on exploring the potential of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in treating neurological disorders, neuropsychological alterations, neurodegenerative diseases and mental disorders.
The Cognitive NeuroLab research group, of which she is a member, has been recognized by the Catalan University and Research Grant Management Agency (AGAUR) as a pre-consolidated group (ref. 2017 SGR 273).
