Josep Lladós Masllorens has a degree and PhD in Economics and Business Studies as well as a postgraduate diploma in Economics and Territorial Finance Management from the University of Barcelona (UB). He is an associate professor in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and a researcher in the Digital Business Research Group (DigiBiz), which is officially recognized as a consolidated research group.
At the UOC he teaches subjects related to international economics and economic geography. He is a member of the Academic Committee for the doctoral programme in Law, Politics and Economics. He has held a number of academic posts at the UOC, including director of the Business Science programme, Vice President for Faculty and Academic Organization, director of the doctoral programme in the Information and Knowledge Society, director of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) and associate dean for research at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
His research focuses on the impact of emerging technologies on the labour market, the economic analysis of digital platforms and collaborative environments for generating knowledge, and the effects of financial literacy processes. The results of his research have been published in a range of scientific journals and book chapters. He has taken part in many research projects in Spain and internationally.
