Holder of a degree in Business Administration and Management and a doctoral degree in Economics, both from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona. He has taught in classes at the UOC, the URV and the University of Barcelona (UB) in the following subjects: economics, finance, statistics, econometrics and financial mathematics. He has been a member of the teaching staff at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's (UOC) Faculty of Economics and Business since 2009.

He carries out research in the fields of quantitative finance, regional economics and demographics.

The research carried out by Daniel Liviano Solís focuses, on the one hand, on the study of the urban and regional economy, encompassing issues such as industrial localisation and the spatial distribution of economic activity. He also carries out applied research in the field of human and business demographics, in addition to researching into different financial market-related issues. He is a member of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) Quantitative Urban Regional Economics (QUREI) Group.
