Josep Jorba Esteve

Professor Agregat IT, Multimedia and Telecommunications Department

The R&D activities of researcher Josep Jorba Esteva focus on the development of distributed systems decentralised on different scales (small groups, clusters or the Internet), optimisation algorithms and parallel computing systems, and on the development of collaborative learning systems. In particular, special emphasis is given, on the one hand, to peer-to-peer paradigms, message passing, shared memory, grid and cloud computing models and optimisation-simulation algorithms. On the other, he works on the analysis and evaluation of collaborative interactions in virtual learning environments. He is a member of the UOC's DPCS (Distributed, Parallel and Collaborative Systems) R&D group.
