Teresa Guasch research focuses on the study of learning and teaching processes in virtual environments from an educational psychology perspective.

Her interest lies specifically in educational aids to foster learning, such as feedback and peer feedback in writing, understood as a tool that helps us to learn.

Her main concern is the study of the elements that help to provide support for teaching and learning in virtual environments and those in which technology is used intensively.

Lines of research

The effect of feedback on academic writing

The objective of this line of research is to determine what type of feedback is most effective in an online environment. We understand writing as a tool for learning and so, through writing, students can build knowledge. Feedback from the teacher or peers is an educational aid that contributes to improvements in the writing process.

Formative assessment and feedback

This line of research is intended to generate indicators that help to improve assessment of online learning, as assessment and feedback play a role in the way teaching and learning take place: students' meta-cognitive and self-regulating skills, individualizing feedback in large-scale online environments, the teacher's role when assessing, the incorporation of feedback in the teaching and learning process, and channels for feedback (video, audio, written text).

Teacher training

This line of research focuses on the analysis and development of teaching skills in online learning environments (methodologies, introduction of changes in teaching practice, etc.).

Interaction in online teaching and learning environments

Analysis of communicative exchanges (interaction) between teacher and learner in online environments and their impact on learning.
