Researcher Olivia Gassol's research work focuses on the study of literature and culture in the context of contemporary societies, and especially on dictatorships and the transition to democracy.
Her research lines have been geared towards analysing forms of censorship, purging and propaganda; cultural policies and the institutional framework; debates and discourses on the function of the contemporary intellectual; the creation and dissemination of cultural imaginaries and memorialism. She has also focused on analysing authors and works from both a semiotic and history of literature perspective and from an ecdotic and philological point of view.
She is a member of the UOC’s PROTCIS (Cultural and Social Opening and Closing Processes) research group.
