The Master Final Project aims for the student to carry out the implementation of a system, the development of an application, or a security analysis of a system based on information and communication technologies. In the Master Final Project, the general skills of the master's degree are put into practice and deepened through the preparation of a written thesis. Likewise, during the preparation of this thesis, the development of skills similar to those of professional or scientific practice is encouraged. It should be noted that special emphasis is placed on aspects related to planning, monitoring, information research, communication skills, economic analysis, etc.

This course presents the problem of security in computer networks and more specifically in TCP/IP networks. The structure of this course follows the following model. Firstly, the security problem in TCP/IP networks is presented. Once we have seen what are the possible security problems in this type of networks, we focus on the prevention mechanisms that exist, based mainly on information filtering. Subsequently, and assuming that not all prevention and protection systems for TCP/IP networks are infallible, we study the different intrusion detection mechanisms that exist. Finally, we emphasize the specific existing protection techniques. In particular, we introduce the basic notions of cryptography that allow us to understand the operation of different mechanisms and applications that allow protection against attacks.

Blockchain is proving to be a disruptive technology that promises to enable new decentralized services by removing intermediaries and empowering users in many different areas such as banking, supply chains, or digital identity. In the Blockchain Systems subject, both the basic operation of blockchain technology and the applications that these systems can have are studied. Among the contents of this course are the study of the most popular blockchain technologies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum; work with permissioned blockchain systems; and the development of intelligent contracts (smart contracts). In addition, this subject also reviews some use cases and representative business projects that aim to revolutionize their sector basing their proposals on blockchain.
