The Legal Framework of Communication course is a basic compulsory course in the Bachelor's Degree in Communication programme. The general aim of the course is to familiarize students, future professionals in one of the disciplines of communication, with the legal framework within which they will have to carry out their activities.

The content of the course includes the fundamental legal principles that affect the activities of journalists, audiovisual communicators and those working in publicity and public relations. The ultimate legal justification for their work lies in respect for fundamental rights and freedom of expression and information. However, these rights often clash with other rights people have, such as the right to honour, privacy, one's own image, the rights of users and consumers, and the law protecting intellectual property.

To define the legal framework of communication activities, the course examines the law regarding information and provides an introduction to the law regarding publicity and legislation on intellectual property and personal data protection.

The Introduction to the Audiovisual Sector course provides an overview of the organization of the different industries in the audiovisual sector. It also presents some key concepts for the current debate about the audiovisual industry, including the digitalization, globalization, concentration and merging of media.

The contemporary audiovisual industry offers numerous examples of the complex interrelationships between authors, institutions, companies, the media, support for audiovisual products and their audiences. The course focuses on the industrial models of cinema and television, paying special attention to the changes brought about by the digitalization of the sector and the emergence of subscription video on demand (SVOD) platforms. 

In the field of cinema, the course reviews the business model, paying special attention to aspects of the promotion, distribution and exhibition of its products, while examining the national and international situation of the sector. In the case of television, it studies different models based on different criteria, the options available as a result of technological development, the role of programming and audiences, and television genres. It also attempts to define the role of the main actors in the national and international television industries.

The Audiovisual Projects course immerses students in the production sector, from work with an entrepreneurial vision and the development of an idea to more business-oriented activities, such as the production and sale of the project. The course offers students a multi-disciplinary view of all the activities a production team have to carry out, so that they can understand such important aspects as different formats, recording audiovisual sequences and, from a more entrepreneurial perspective, the relationship between the different sectors involved.

The Bachelor's Degree in Communication programme includes a final degree project. This compulsory course is basically designed to bring together the theoretical and practical knowledge students have acquired during their studies. For the course, students will have to propose, produce and present a professional-quality creative project and submit a report on its production.
