The R&D activities of researcher Jordi Sánchez Navarro focus on the study of communications and the media with regard to the social practice in which every individual both receives and produces content. Based on his studies of the transformation of communicative practices associated with access to and use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), he researches into innovation in the media and, particularly, into the production and dissemination of audiovisual entertainment and how this innovation interacts with cultural consumption practices in the contemporary media landscape.
His main research interests are innovation in the production and dissemination of audiovisual entertainment, the cultural consumption of entertainment, the new audiovisual literacy and, in general, new media practices. He also specialises in the aesthetics and reception of contemporary audiovisual output.
He is a member of the UOC's CNM (Communication and New Media) R&D group.
