She holds a doctoral degree in the Information and Knowledge Society (2010) from the UOC, as well as an official llicenciatura degree in Documentation from the University of Granada (1998) and another in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Barcelona (1995).
 
Since September 1999, she has been a tenured professor with the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
 
As a researcher, she has worked for 15 years in the area of collaborative learning, communities of learning and practice, cooperative work and knowledge exchange on social media. She is a member of the GAME (Learning, Media and Entertainment) research group.
