Holder of a doctoral degree in Business from the University of Barcelona (UB). She has been a coordinating professor at the UOC's Faculty of Economics and Business since 2009 and director of the postgraduate programmes in Marketing Management and Consumer Research, Communication Management and Corporate Image, and Marketing Management and Sales since 2017.

She holds a degree in Business Computing from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia Computing from Glyndŵr University, a degree in Market Techniques and Research from the University of Barcelona, and a master's degree in the Information and Knowledge Society from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

Dr Cintia Pla-Garcia’s research interests lie in the area of consumer behaviour, and more precisely in online consumption motivations. She has participated in a number of national and international conferences, and has published two papers with the results yielded by her doctoral research.
