Macip Maresma, Salvador

With a progressively ageing population, it is becoming increasingly urgent to understand the progressive age-associated loss of organ function in order to find strategies that could improve the state of health in the final stages of life.

This researcher's laboratory studies the cellular and molecular bases of ageing and proposes strategies that offer the possibility of impacting on this phenotype, ranging from nanotechnology to nutritional manipulation, with the aim of applying them in pre-clinical in vivo studies.

It also studies the response of B-cell leukaemias to current treatments in order to determine how and why resistance appears and propose alternative treatments (drug combinations, personalized treatments, etc.) that could be more effective.
