ContactJulià Barceló, Maria
The R&D activities of researcher Maria Julià Barceló focus on the study of the EU's peacekeeping missions carried out between 2003 and 2011 outside of its borders and within the framework of its Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). She analyses these European missions, examining their legal bases, origins and development through successive reforms of EU treaties, their organisational structure and the procedure for their creation and on-the-ground implementation. She also studies international implementation agreements that govern the status of the states receiving these missions and non-EU member states participating in them.
Her main research interests are peacekeeping missions, human rights and post-conflict reconstruction. She also specialises in WTO accords and their direct applicability, the free circulation of production factors and the internal market.
She is a member of the UOC's (Globalisation, legal pluralism and human rights) R&D group.
