Vanessa Jiménez's current research activity focuses on studying the regulation and exploitation of disruptive technologies (artificial intelligence, blockchain, data mining and the Internet of Things) and disruptive business models (digital platforms, collaborative economy, fintech, insurtech, foodtech, industry 4.0).

Within these studies, her current contributions revolve around four main topics:

  • Agri-food law, particularly the protection of designations of origin and foodtech (industrial and intellectual property, competition law).
  • The study of collaborative economy platforms: from the viewpoints of corporate regulatory compliance and platform economy analysis.
  • The impact of new technologies on fashion law (impact of artificial intelligence on product creation and marketing, and the implementation of blockchain and smartcontracts).

The study of fintech from the regulatory (regtech) and competition law viewpoints.
