Marco Inzitari (MD, PhD), geriatrics, has had a long career in ageing research and innovation in areas ranging from healthy ageing to innovative care models. 

He is the Director of Integrated Care and Research at the Parc Santiari Pere Virgili public geriatrics and primary care centre and the leader of the Barcelona Ageing, Frailty and Transitions Research Group (RE-FiT Bcn, AGAUR-SGR17) at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). 

He is the PI of projects on cognitive deterioration and mobility (ISCiii funding), diabetes and Alzheimer's disease (ERDF-RIS3-Cat, as WP leader of the H2020 RECOGNISED project), stroke rehabilitation (Marató TV3), oncogeriatrics (AECC) and community-based prevention in frail people (Fund. La Caixa + Barcelona City Council). 

He is the author of more than 80 international publications and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Frailty and Aging. He advises the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (COVID-19 multidisciplinary working group) and various Government of Catalonia programmes. He is the Chair of the Catalan Geriatrics and Gerontology Society (2018-21).
