Her research career has focused on the study and design of digital technology applications to support individual and collective knowledge building processes and as catalysts for education innovation.
Her current research activity runs along three lines:
1) design and co-design of inquiry-based and dialogical learning scenarios and experiences from the students' perspective and with their active involvement,
2) analysis and support of learning regulation processes in online, social and open environments, and
3) informal learning and professional teacher development on the Web through participation in online communities. He is particularly interested in participative and design-based research models.
