Her research is in the field of the prevention and treatment of prevalent non-communicable diseases like type 2 diabetes and obesity, in other words, the study of the incidence and impact of lifestyle changes on said conditions. Another line of research she follows is that of ageing, focusing on how the aforementioned conditions develop with regard to old age, as well as specific fields such as the prevention of sarcopenia.

As a specialist in translational medicine and biomedicine, her projects involve highly transdisciplinary lines, from the laboratory and basic research to the most purely clinical spheres.
