Crisitian Castillo has a PhD in Business Administration and Management awarded cum laude, Master's Degree in Engineering for Industrial Organization and a degree in Industrial Electronics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Currently he is director of the lifelong learning programme in Production, Quality and Environment. He is also a member of teaching staff at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's (UOC) Faculty of Economics and Business, where his academic activity focuses on production and logistic operations courses. He was also adjunct instructor at the UPC for one year. 

Before he entered teaching, he spent 12 years in the private sector, where he worked as factory manager and operations and logistics manager, becoming an expert in integrated management systems, operations and logistics. 

He is a member of the Sustainability, Management and Transport (SUMAT) research group and his research interests centre on logistic and production operations in companies and on business organization, especially in connection with organizational change.
