Canals Parera, Agustí

Holder of a degree and a master's degree in Physics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He has an MBA and PhD in Management Sciences from ESADE (Ramon Llull University) and also did postgraduate studies at Penn State and Syracuse University in the United States.

He has been an adjunct professor and researcher for the Theoretical Physics group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and course instructor in the Department of Information Systems at ESADE (Ramon Llull University). He has also been a visiting professor at the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick (United Kingdom), at the Wharton School's Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center, University of Pennsylvania (USA), and at Oxford University's Saïd Business School (United Kingdom).

He is currently an adjunct professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's Faculty of Economics and Business, where he directs the Master's Degree in Strategic Management of Information and Knowledge in Organizations. He is also a course instructor at ESADE's Department of General Management and Strategy.

Researcher Agustí Canals' R&I work focuses on the study of information and knowledge management's strategic and organizational aspects in organizations.

His current main research interests are strategic knowledge management, social media and knowledge networks, RDI processes, innovation ecosystems, competitive intelligence and complex systems. He also specializes in corporate strategy, geographical business clusters and simulation models.

He is principal investigator in the KIMO (Knowledge and Information Management in Organizations) research group. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the I-Space Institute (Philadelphia, USA) and a member of the Advisory Board of the newPIC Chair in new practices for innovation and creativity at the Paris School of Business. He has been visiting researcher at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) and at the Saïd Business School (University of Oxford).
