Antoni Baena has a PhD in Psychological Research from Ramon Llull University, Barcelona (2015). He is the director of the Master's Degree in E-Health and a member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He specializes in the treatment and control of smoking, with more than 20 years' experience in the field, pioneering the use of ICT in addressing smoking in Spain with the Catalan Institute of Oncology's (ICO) Tobacco Control Unit, a WHO Collaborating Centre, at which he was a project director and trainer of healthcare professionals. He is the coordinator of the Expert Committee on ICT of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia (COPC) and the representative of the Council of Professional Colleges of Psychology of Spain (COP) on the eHealth Taskforce of the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations (EFPA). His main interests are eHealth, the deontological ethics of the use of ICT in health, digital literacy, patient empowerment, co-creation and online healthcare processes, as well as other aspects of public health. He is the co-author of more than 30 articles published or accepted by peer-reviewed journals and of more than 25 courses and seminars for healthcare professionals, focusing on improving the provision of healthcare. He has also participated in numerous national and international conferences.
