Digital culture and tourism have undergone considerable growth due to the new role these play in a global society. The generalization of ICT in these areas – with a notable impact on the ways of creating, producing, disseminating and consuming culture and tourism – has led to the emergence of new forms of expression, new techniques and new creative focuses.  This has led to changes in these sectors and in the new uses of ICT in the management of services, from the internal organization of institutions to the proposal of new cultural and tourism projects and programmes.

It is necessary, therefore, to lead, adopt and undertake innovation and change processes in the tourism and cultural sector through the application of advanced knowledge in the specialist use of ICT and a perspective of inclusion and governance in the development and management of these sectors.
